We are offering a role in the telecom industry, located in Eagan, Minnesota, United States. The position is a Collections Specialist, which involves managing customer credit accounts, processing payments, and ensuring efficient financial operations. This role is a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts by mail, telephone, or personal visit to solicit payment.

• Receive payments and post amounts paid to customer accounts.

• Confer with customers by telephone or in person to determine reasons for overdue payments and to review the terms of sales, services, or credit contracts.

• Persuade customers to pay amounts due on credit accounts, damage claims, or non-payable checks or to return merchandise.

• Arrange for debt repayment or establish repayment schedules based on customers' financial situations.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of collections.

• Utilize computer applications such as Microsoft Word and other related collections software to manage and track collections processes.

• Adhere to federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations related to collections.

• Utilize customer service skills to effectively communicate with customers and resolve payment issues.

• Use negotiation skills to establish reasonable repayment schedules and resolve delinquencies.

Requirements • Proven experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other relevant computer programs

• Knowledge of collection processes and procedures

• Experience with payment processing and check processing

• Understanding of regulations related to debt collection

• Familiarity with 'About Time' and 'A Plus' software

• Experience in customer service and sales

• Ability to review and understand contracts

• Competency in negotiation and persuasion techniques

• Good written communication skills

• Experience in customer account management

• Ability to perform ad hoc financial tasks

• Experience in claim administration

• Familiarity with credit management and overdrafts

• Knowledge about company policies related to debt collection

• Understanding of delinquencies and ability to work with delinquent accounts

• Familiarity with merchandising techniques

• Experience as a collector is desirable

• Ability to repay clients in a professional manner.
