Our truck drivers assist with our donated goods retail stores whose success determines what we can dedicate to our mission service programs and our employees.
Our truck drivers primary duty is to service our retail stores across eight counties: Athens, Fayette, Hocking, Jackson, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, and Vinton. Drivers are responsible for the safe transport of donated goods to-and-from the warehouse and for assisting in the upkeep of trucks (cleaning, reporting maintenance needs, etc.). Drivers will also take trash to the landfill, assist with brokers as necessary, and maintain a safe and orderly dock area.
Hours will be 30-40 per week with pay commensurate to experience starting no lower than $14 per hour. All staff are eligible to participate in our 403(b) plan and full-time employees receive paid time off and are eligible for several benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance.
The ideal candidate will be able to work with people from a variety of backgrounds, be able to communicate clearly and effectively, and follow instructions. Prior experience with driving a box truck and operating pallet jacks and forklifts preferred. Other key qualifications include:
- Driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be bondable.
- Must be flexible to rotate weekend schedule.
- Must pass a Goodwill-approved criminal background check and not appear on any government registries that track abusers or other such offenses.
- Must pass a drug test and will be subject to the company's random drug testing procedures.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift 100 lb. with the aid of a fork lift, truck and/or hand dolly.
