UCLA Health Administrative Supervisor, Stein Eye Calabasas - Ophthalmology in Calabasas, California

Description

The Administrative Assistant Supervisor will oversee the administrative staff and provider and patient needs for the Stein Eye Calabasas multi-specialty clinic. We are seeking a proactive and cheerful candidate that will ensure the staff

  • Provide administrative staff training, scheduling, and monitor work performance

  • Manage providers' schedules

  • Supervise patient scheduling and clinic flow

  • Oversee completion and accuracy of insurance authorizations

  • Counsel patients regarding financial options, costs, and preparation

  • Provide back-up support or coverage to the administrative staff as needed

Salary Range: $28.78-$59.34 HourlyQualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting, including organizing workflow to accomplish established objectives, training staff, and evaluating staff effectiveness.

  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.

  • Familiarity with surgery scheduling systems, preferably with UCLA systems / CareConnect or ophthalmology, or both.

  • Working knowledge of current third party payor systems including managed care and governmental programs; familiarity with current patient billing practices.

  • Strong organizational skills to effectively coordinate the patient care activities of the practice.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to deal effectively with patients who are under stress.

  • Familiarity with computerized patient appointment scheduling and registration systems, preferably CareConnect.

  • Ability to follow-through with tasks under minimal supervision and ability to prioritize work effectively.

  • Ability to organize and maintain patient records efficiently.

  • Ability to perform under the stress of frequent interruptions and/or distractions.

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of ophthalmology terminology.

  • Experience managing patient care activities in a medical practice.
